Job Description

We are seeking a Controller to join one our client's growing real estate development and construction team! Our client is a commercial developer who develops, constructs, and manages upscale commercial developments.


Salary: $120k + excellent benefits and discretionary bonus and flex time!


Job Description:


  • Manage the development of and support of the Company’s strategic plans

  • Responsible for the accounting department and accuracy of financial statements & audits in all aspects of accounting

  • Manages and supervises all aspects of accounting throughout the Company’s multiple entities

  • Prepare budgets and financial reports

  • Monitor the financial performance of the company

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports & financial closings

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts as well as cash flow projections

  • Works with managing partners to provide business analytics, as well as ensure good relations with bank financing and debt ratios to support compliance, stability and future growth

  • Responsible for tax coordination activities and annual audit with the Company’s engaged CPA firm and Counsel.

  • Works with business leadership and managing partners to monitor performance, and set processes, strategies and goals

  • Optimizes cash and working capital

  • Oversees human resource duties including payroll, 401k and benefits

  • Oversees the supervision and training of office staff, responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable

  • Oversees the analysis of project job budgets and costs

  • Manages lender draws for all projects

  • Regular auditing of all financial documents

  • Maintains all required Continuing Education Courses for Certifications

Job Requirements

*Desired Qualifications:


  • Certified Public Accountant and/or Master Business Administration degree, also with a Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting

  • 10+ years’ experience within a General Contractor and/or Real Estate Investment firm as a Controller, Assistant Controller, and/or Accounting Manager with advanced financial and leadership expertise and a solid understanding of corporate tax concepts, job cost accounting, financial management, and business law

  • In-depth knowledge of 1031 Tax Exchange processes

  • Strong attention to details and organizational skills, keen business sense, and good interpersonal and communication skills

  • PC Proficient, extensive experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills and experience implementing process improvements

  • Experience with Master Builder/Sage 100 Contractor software
