Job Description




The primary purpose of this position is to assist the credit union to live out its mission, “committed to providing our members with financial services that enable them and their families to live a better life.” A key component is to maintain systems at maximum performance levels to support the standards and goals set for internal and external member service. In addition, it is a top priority to work within the policies and guidelines established by the credit union, industry standards, and other regulatory, Federal and State Rules and Regulations.


The following duties are normal to this position; however, they are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. This position is full time with occasional after hours support and/or weekend on-call duties requiring support; candidates must have flexible availability. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Priority 1: Responsible for Systems that support access to the credit union and products and services offered to members Establish and maintain adequate working relationships with outside vendors to effectively troubleshoot and solve internal and external functionality of the Credit Union. Maintain policies and procedures to assure system operations are maintained within all Federal rules and regulations.

d.  Maintain relationships with outside vendors regarding systems, security, disaster preparedness, maintenance and troubleshoot effectively as issues arise

e.  Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of Symitar/Quest application including database structure, downloads, processes, work areas, modules, device control and third party system integration.

f.  Identifies, recommends and implements system improvement opportunities.

g.  Updates the disaster recovery/business resumption plans and preparedness

h.  Serves as primary back up for Operations Support position

i.  Makes recommendations to Management regarding upgrades, new hardware and software needs, etc.

j.  Maintains users and user security on networks

k.  Ensure that all information and transactions regarding credit union members and the affairs of the credit union are kept confidential.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field or three years related experience as operations/system administrator. Knowledge of hardware and software systems, computer networks, Windows PC and Microsoft Office.

Experience: Understands Compliance issues and attends training as it relates to the position

Language Skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of members or employees.

Mathematical Skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
